State of Alaska Emergency Alert System
The Alaska Emergency Alert System (EAS) Plan outlines the use of the FCC-mandated EAS across National, State, and Local levels, including activation authorities for each. It provides protocols for sending EAS messages, testing procedures, and guidance for Emergency Management and National Weather Service personnel. The Plan designates local areas within the State, offers a template for Local Area Plans, lists location codes for Alaska, and includes instructions for cable operators. It also identifies members of the State Emergency Communications Committee, which oversees Alaska's EAS.
