Exercise Section

The Exercise team develops and assists exercise programs in Alaska. The team uses nationally recognized guidance from FEMA under the Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) to build high quality exercises designed to test plans, policies and procedures.

The Exercise team works to support local communities across the state in developing and conducting their own exercises, and is made aware of other state-sponsored exercises.

The team’s focus is on working with local jurisdictions to reduce Alaska’s vulnerability to natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other events; as well as minimizing the loss of life and damage that occurs following an unpreventable event.

If you are interested in conducting an exercise and are looking for resources, technical assistance or other support, please contact our team using the information on the left of the screen. We also appreciate any information regarding exercises being conducted around the state at either the local, state, or federal levels of government, or by NGOs, non-profits or private companies.
