The Exercise team develops and assists exercise programs in Alaska. The team utilizes nationally recognized guidance from FEMA, as outlined in the Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP), to develop high-quality exercises that test plans, policies, and procedures.
The Exercise team supports local communities across the state in developing and conducting their exercises, and is also made aware of other state-sponsored exercises.
The team’s focus is on working with local jurisdictions to reduce Alaska’s vulnerability to natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other events; as well as minimizing the loss of life and damage that occurs following an unpreventable event.
If you are interested in conducting an exercise and are looking for resources, technical assistance, or other support, please contact our team using the information on the left of the screen. We also appreciate any information regarding exercises being conducted around the state at either the local, state, or federal levels of government, or by NGOs, non-profits, or private companies.
